Kinja'd!!!

So much on my mind throughout the day, haven’t had they opportunity to socially share my brain with anyone for quite awhile. I’ve developed the awareness to know when I need to decompress at least, but it seems I’ve got no one to chat it out with as of late.

My current crop of college classes and graduating next year , finding work, college debt, the automotive industry and its job prospects (or two potential lack thereof), what little politics I read about....I could go on. It’s a lot to me.

I’ve done two summer internships in the last three  years. This was the first summer without one. Applied and interviewed for a co-op this summer but it wasn’t to be.

As a young feller in the peak of your college years, with a clear case of Porsche-a-philia, and a lovely pic with your post... I wish you well.

I can only add that your image reminded me of a Prime Motivational Poster back in Gramps’ College Days. I attach, hereto, the f amous —

Of course, we were Yuppies In Training back then, but it’s still a nice motivator. I like the pic of the 928 btw.

You’ll still have a “leg up” when you graduate compared to not having co-oped. If you’re done next year, the companies you were with might have openings and having that history with them is a huge plus. And even if not, you’ve already started (I hate this term but everyone uses it) networking so people you worked with may have gone elsewhere and might be good contacts. I didn’t hire in to the company I co-oped with (thank god for that) but one of the principals had since left for a larger company and hired me in.

Having any relevant work history at all is a plus compared to someone with just a degree, a smile, and shiny shoes.

I’ve said this in some of your other posts but I’m so happy to see the progress you’ve made over the years. Sounds like you’ve mostly figured out how to take care of your mental health. Realising you need to decompress is very important! My admiration and congratulations to you .
